We Don't Know What She's Saying, but her Maserati is Awesome

Doesn't matter if you can understand Russian or not....it's still an 'informative' review.
We'll be honest to admit that we're now considering taking Russian language lessons. And if this is Russia's idea on how to present the Maserati GranTurismo, then learning the language certainly couldn't hurt. The presenter in this video has the hairdo of Marilyn Monroe, wears a high cut one-piece 'racing suit', fishnet stockings, and black leather driving gloves. So who cares if you don't understand, but we think you get the overall idea.
Be sure to pay attention to the four minute mark just to see her reaction when turning the ignition. It's definitely an entertaining way to present a car and we had no problem sitting through the nearly seven minute Maserati showcase.
Language isn't everything.

A Journey through Soviet Automotive History in Moscow

CarBuzz takes a look at the rich history of Soviet automotive tradition in Russia. Words by Phillip Harbor.
There is a little-known automotive museum on the outskirts of Moscow that houses a cache of old Soviet military and civilian cars produced throughout the decades of communist rule in the Eastern European country. The museum looks as old as the cars inside it, as there has been little regard to upkeep of the building adding to a truly...desperate look.

Located at Ivanovskoye Village in the Moscow region of Russia, the exhibit features cars built by and for the military of the former USSR along with some civilian models.
Some of these civilian models had featured in the 2nd Moscow Retro Style Festival all the way back in 1936.At the far-end of the museum, past a Soviet-red banner adorned with a photo of Karl Marx, there is an un assuming old black taxi cab resting near a crumbling wall with dull green paint peeling off of it.The worn down cab is a piece of Soviet automotive history, although without its certificate and decades-old photo perched next to it, you would never know. It was the recipient of the "Most Original Car" award of the 19th Taxicab Park event.
If you continue towards the other end of the diminutive museum past several Volgas, armored Soviet vehicles from the Cold War Era and other odd-looking cars you have never heard of, you find yourself surrounded by several veteran racecars. Most have certainly seen better days and the ones on display here are cramped between support beams and rest on broken tile floors. They say that beauty comes in many forms. From the looks of the automotive museum in Ivanovskoye, it's hard to see where the Soviets took their inspiration from when designing their classic automobiles.
Produced and driven around Russia and all the Soviet territories, these vehicles wear mostly dull colors and the bodies were meant to stand up to the frigid and unforgiving winters. The tires are thick and tread rugged for crushing any dreams of freedom or self-expression.After perusing through the history of Soviet automobiles, one thing is for certain - Russia and the former Soviet Republics have come a very long way in a short amount of time, releasing a great deal of their pent-up creativity.Don't believe that? Just take a look at the guys from Latvian-based Dartz.

Audi RS6 Wrapped in Blue Chrome and Silver

They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder and if this is what the car owner considers beautiful, we wouldn’t want to see his wife.
Not so long ago a car covered in chrome paint was a sight to behold but nowadays they are two a penny. This particular paintjob is a bit different from what is becoming the norm however, as it combines two very distinct styles, with matt silver flowing from the hood to the roof and the rest of the car covered in blue chrome.Re-Styling.ru applied the wrap for their Russian client, and although the overall finish looks like its half-done, the owner is apparently thrilled with it.

Prokhorov's Yo-auto will sell Russia's first hybrids by end of 2012

Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov's Yo-auto will sell the first Russian-made hybrid-electric vehicles by the end of 2012, as Prokhorov previously estimated, and won't be delayed by his decision to run against Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin in next year's presidential elections.
The Russian newspaper RIA Novosti, citing Russian television station Rossiya 24, reports that Prokhorov, the co-owner of Yo-Auto, said the company will try to sell the hybrid, called the Yo-mobile, for less than $10,000 in order to offer the Russian public a reasonably-priced, highly fuel-efficient car. The company will produce as many as 45,000 Yo-mobile vehicles a year from its factory near St. Petersburg, and will double production once the second stage of the factory is completed.
Prokhorov's Onexim Group, along with Russia-based truckmaker Yarovit, is investing about $200 million in a car-making plant that's received public support from Putin. This past April, Putin took a prototype of the hybrid on a three-mile test drive to the home of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. Prokhorov acquired the NBA's New Jersey Nets last year.

Video: The Porsche Festival Arrives in St. Petersburg, Russia

Porsche's popularity and sales continue to increase every year throughout Russia. Without a doubt, Porsche is on a roll in the global market. Despite the recession that began back in 2008, the German automaker has reported solid sales and ever growing popularity throughout the world (for those who can afford them). And now the company has recently posted this video showcasing the first Porsche Festival to take place in St. Petersburg, Russia. Claiming they have over 400 clients, it's obvious that Porsche has quite a few fans of all ages in the historic Russian city.
In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Russian Porsche Festival, the automaker unveiled the Panamera Turbo S and had test drives for the new Cayman R.

They also had track drives for some of the brand's classic motorsport models. Since the spring of 2001, thousands of Porsches have been sold in Russia and there's no doubt that sales will continue to meet or exceed expectations in the country.

World's Second M Exclusive Dealership Opened in St. Petersburg

Russia’s second largest city is honored to house BMW’s second ever M exclusive showroom.
Hot on the heels of BMW's first exclusive M dealership in Singapore's Teban Gardens Crescent that opened its doors in 2010, the automaker's second exclusive M showroom has just opened in St. Petersburg, Russia, appropriately named 'Park M.'What originated to handle BMW's racing program in the early seventies, the M division has grown exponentially over the following decades and is responsible for high-performance models such as the M3 and M6.
As the sixth largest market for M automobiles, St. Petersburg's selection as the sub-brand's second M showroom may not seem so strange. Russia is also considered by BMW to be one of the hottest emerging markets for M vehicles, with the X6M the most popular model in the country.

During the opening ceremony, MD Alexander Bystrov said: "Our dealership is located in a new business district of St. Petersburg where young, modern business people live and work. For them, speed, power and prestige are important in a car. You will find all this and more in the unique products of BMW M."Park M has the entire BMW model range on display and the showroom has some unique features including an interactive sound wall where customers can listen via headphones to the revving of different M engines, and a display of BMW's heritage.
