[Video] Nissan GT-R vs Porsche 911 Carerra S Track Battle

Evo employ Fifth Gear host Tiff Needell to further fuel the rivalry between the GT-R and 911.
Evo magazine has recently taken two of the best GT cars on the market and pitted them against each other at the UK's Bedford Autodrome. Both models have been updated recently so it was deemed appropriate to get Tiff Needell of Fifth Gear fame to sort out a track battle. With 542hp, the new 2013 Nissan GT-R can sprint 0-62mph in 2.8 seconds and is blisteringly fast around the corners as well as the straight.
The new 991 Porsche 911 Carerra S now has 394hp, and its 0-62mph sprint time is a full two seconds slower than the GT-R. But, at 335kg lighter, it has every chance of getting round the track quicker than Godzilla. Check the video to see how they compare and which Tiff would prefer to have in his garage.

[Video] Platinum Motorsport Does the Bugatti Veyron in Matte White

Exterior styling for a Bugatti Veyron? The beached whale never looked so good.
Platinum Motorsports has worked on some seriously fast and expensive supercars in the past, such as the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. The crew from Cali presented their exterior styling for the Bugatti Veyron last year in L.A.
Cars&CoffeeIrvine shot this video at last year's Los Angeles Auto Show (the Bugatti Veyron was shown off at the SEMA Show in Vegas last year as well). They comment that the Matte White Veyron was "owned by one of the owners of luxury4play.com, or one of the premier luxury lifestyle forums out there."Platinum Motorsports is based in Los Angeles, California. In addition to the Matte White exterior paint, the Veyron sports a black grille, rear air vents and surrounds of the headlights. The tinted black windows are a nice touch as well.

[Video] Red Pagani Huayra is Pure Supercar Seduction

Horatio’s Huayra has been spotted in stunning red.
The Pagani Huayra looks so good in this stunning red finish that you think the video could be a video game and not the real thing. Shot by Marchettino, the latest design from Horatio Pagani is pure sex on wheels.
For those of you who may have forgotten, the Pagani Huayra was named after the Aymaran god of wind who controls the breeze, wind and blizzards of the Andean highlands. In less existential terms, the Huayra packs a 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged V12 AMG engine that can bang out 730hp and sprint from 0-60mph in 3.3 seconds and reach a wind-breaking 230mph top speed.

A Closer Look at the Lamborghini Aventador J

This is everything a true supercar should be. Too bad only one has been made.
Lamborghini's latest and most insane one-off model, the Aventador J, had its official debut earlier this month at the Geneva Motor Show. While there are no plans to put into mass production, numerous sources have stated that the car has been sold to a private collector.Who that individual is remains unknown and we don't know if we'll ever see the car again once they've taken possession. Before that happens, however, EVO magazine's Features Editor Henry Catchpole had a unique opportunity.
He was given an after-hours look at the V12-powered supercar at the Swiss show. He gives us a good look inside the car as well, right down to its carbon fiber trim pieces. Overall, he sums up that the Aventador J is "the most incredible one-off creation to come out of Sant'Agata." We couldn't agree more.

[Video] Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 Heads to the Track

The new racing variant of the GT-R supercar has been captured flying around the track.
Official details of the GT-R Nismo GT3 were released in January after the car entered the Dubai 24-hour endurance race. Although the pictures of the race car were cool, there's nothing better than seeing and hearing it tear around a race track.JRM Racing has thankfully put together a promotional video showing one of its race cars undertaking shakedown tests, which gives us the chance to see the GT-R Nismo GT3 on the move.
It features a 3.8-liter V6 twin-turbo engine based on a standard road car unit, with power going to the rear wheels via a six-speed semi-automatic transmission. Output is rated at 523hp and 451lb-ft of torque.
Designed with road-going customers in mind, the 1,300kg car features "a chassis that inspires confidence," with suspension set-up and driver controls that be adjusted according to driver preferences.Anyone interested in picking one up for a spot of weekend racing or a rapid trip to the country, prices start at 32m yen, which is a smidgen under $390,000.

[Video] Hennessey Ford GT: The New Standing Mile World Record Holder

A Hennessey-tuned Ford GT may just be the best supercar - ever.
After yesterday's nearly heartbreaking news about a 1,000hp Ford GT getting totaled in Brazil, we bring some better news today that'll rightly cheer up everyone's' spirits.Last weekend, a crew from tuning firm Hennessey managed to set the world record for the standing mile while behind the wheel of a Hennessey-built twin turbo Ford GT. The car is owned by Mark Heidaker and was driven by Sean Kennedy.
Obviously this was no ordinary Ford GT, as it once had both a twin-turbocharger and a supercharger before Hennessey added their own magic touch. Basically, the tuner decided to drop the supercharger for the twin-turbo setup, citing efficiency reasons. In the end, they GT had a top speed of 257.7 mph.
Hennessey also just released this video showing Kennedy behind the wheel setting the record. Chances are the Brazilian driver from yesterday would have been killed if he tried anything like this in his GT. Instead, he just crashed the thing.

Corvette's 60th Birthday Celebrations to Start in 2012

Although the model was launched only in 1953, the parties for its 60th birthday have started in 2012.
According to most historians, including those of General Motors, the Chevrolet Corvette was launched in the summer of 1953, barely six months after it was displayed in New York's Waldorf Astoria hotel at the GM extravaganza Motorama. So it is an accepted knowledge that the car will celebrate its 60th anniversary next year. However, a few organizations, including GM, who are either oblivious to that fact or just interested in prolonging the party purely for commercial reasons, are starting the celebrations early.
The Corvette will attend the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed in its embryonic form as the EX-122 concept car that Hurley Earl approved in 1952 and was displayed at the 1953 Motorama.
And Chevrolet has released a TV ad for the Corvette 427 limited edition, a commemorative model for the car's 60th anniversary. It is probably not the most original TV ad to come out from Chevrolet ad agency, however it's a nice one to watch.

Nissan Juke-R Takes on the GT-R on the Track

The Juke-R has been pitted against the GT-R to find out who performs better on the track.
The Nissan Juke-R, everyone's favorite GT-R/Juke hybrid, has taken to the track to challenge the 2012 GT-R (MY2013 in the U.S.). The GT-R ran on a slightly damp track while the Juke-R had a bit of a dryer surface.
The Juke-R put on a valiant display, though it came up just 1.3 seconds short of beating the GT-R. What's even more impressive is that the Juke-R weighs more and cranks out 485hp while the new GT-R is rated at 545hp.The Bedford Autodrome track features a few straights, so the Juke-R's higher profile and less aerodynamics really came into play.

We Don't Know What She's Saying, but her Maserati is Awesome

Doesn't matter if you can understand Russian or not....it's still an 'informative' review.
We'll be honest to admit that we're now considering taking Russian language lessons. And if this is Russia's idea on how to present the Maserati GranTurismo, then learning the language certainly couldn't hurt. The presenter in this video has the hairdo of Marilyn Monroe, wears a high cut one-piece 'racing suit', fishnet stockings, and black leather driving gloves. So who cares if you don't understand, but we think you get the overall idea.
Be sure to pay attention to the four minute mark just to see her reaction when turning the ignition. It's definitely an entertaining way to present a car and we had no problem sitting through the nearly seven minute Maserati showcase.
Language isn't everything.
