Audi hopes the third-generation A6 allroad will build on the success of its predecessors.
Audi simultaneously revealed the new Audi A6 allroad quattro at the Geneva Motor Show with a new video giving fans the chance to see both live shots of the off-road and the car in action.Compared to its standard Avant sibling, the dimensions of the new A6 allroad quattro are a few millimeters bigger in each direction thanks to a raised ride height, a wide body kit with flared fenders, double bar mounted roof rails and side skirts complete with aluminum inserts.Four engines will be available at launch, three of which are 3.0-liter V6 TDI diesels with one 3.0-liter TFSI gasoline engine that produces 310hp and 325lb-ft of torque. The most powerful of the TDI produces 313hp and 479lb-ft of torque and shifts from 0-62mph in 5.6 seconds. It is also exclusively mated to a fast-shifting eight-speed tiptronic transmission where the other three are paired with the seven-speed S tronic, a sporty dual-clutch transmission.
At the push of a button, an adaptive air suspension system can lower the car by 15mm and raise it by 35mm.
At low speeds a lift mode provides an additional 10mm to handle rough or irregular terrain. Other highlight features include a panoramic glass roof, 18-inch five-arm alloys, two large flattened tailpipes, touchscreen MMI Navigation, a power retractable eight-inch monitor and a Bang & Olufsen sound system with 15 speakers.
The new Audi A6 allroad Quattro will be hitting German showrooms this spring, with the 204hp 3.0-liter TDI priced at 54,600 Euros. Photos courtesy of Damon Lavrinc/ Autoblog.
