Could the Boxster/Cayman be closing in on the Porsche's own gold standard, the 911?
By now we've been given the full skinny on the completely redesigned 2013 Porsche Boxster. From the moment we saw the first official pictures, we could tell that a lot of thought went into reinventing it while still retaining all of the essential elements that have made it so successful. In this new video produced by Porsche, we're given the chance to hear the 'guy behind the guy' explain a lot of the technology that went into the automaker's acclaimed two-seat roadster. Hans-Jurgen Wohler is that guy, the Manager of the Boxster model line. Powered by a standard 2.7-liter flat-six with 265hp that starts at just under $50k, the new Boxster can be considered quite a bargain no matter what your currency is.
And hearing what Herr Wohler has to say about the roadster's many technological advances just makes us even more anxious to get behind the wheel.Dare we say the Boxster and the upcoming redesigned Cayman will be giving the 911 a run for its $82k base price?
