Chevrolet Code 130R Concept Previewed

Chevy is making a splash at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show with a preview of their Code 130R Concept.
Chevrolet is currently previewing a pair of new coupes at the 2012 North American International Auto Show. In addition to the Tru 140S Concept, this particular coupe is dubbed the Code 130R Concept. The new concept was designed to appeal to next-generation buyers and Chevy says they developed it by using feedback from young consumers across the U.S. The coupe seats four and is finished in a new metallic red. It contrasts interestingly enough with its set of matte anodized gold wheels.
The Code 130R Concept runs on an efficient 150hp turbocharged 1.4-liter 4-cylinder engine. Utilizing the American brand's eAssist tech, the concept will shut off its engine at stops, recapture braking energy and use smooth torque during acceleration. The engine is paired to a six-speed automatic or optional six-speed manual transmission to send power to the rear wheels. The interior is still in the design phase, as GM North American advanced design studio director Frank Saucedo elaborated "The interiors currently exist in 2D only. This allows us the flexibility to continue the discussion and encourage more dialogue as we continue [development]."The Chevrolet Code 130R Concept is intended to head into production in some form and will be packed to the gills with modern tech and software, including WiFi, MyLink and smartphone connectivity, amongst others. Chevy expects a production model to price a little over $20,000.
