Morgan Delays EvaGT Launch

The beautifully styled GT car will be delayed in order to develop new material technology for its production.Morgan, the British sports car manufacturer, has announced of a delay in plans to launch the EvaGT. A preliminary design of the car was revealed at the 2010 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance and the production model was due for a premiere at the forthcoming Geneva Motor Show.It became clear lately that due to development of new material technology, the car's launch would be delayed by a least two years and according to autocar.co.uk, the car will be on display only at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
Meanwhile, Morgan will take part in a development of magnesium alloy technology in a consortium with a few other British firms. The magnesium alloy should save 30% percent of the car's body in white weight and improve structural performance.The EvaGT has the classic shape of a GT car with a very long hood, modern tear drop shape side windows and fast back-styled rear end. Under the hood there should be a twin-turbo straight six BMW engine with 302 hp coupled to either a manual or automatic six-speed gearbox.
